Christopher Rex

I recently got accepted as a PhD student (starting fall 2020) at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, studying epigenetics. I am currently a full-time Anatomy & Physiology instructor at Vance-Granville Community College and tutor Math/Science.I earned my Master of Science in Biology at the University of Northern Colorado in 2013 while studying under Dr. Stephen Mackessy, working with venomous snakes (in the lab and in the field) and researching their venoms.

I have been interested in snakes and handling them since I was 14 and have since set out to learn all that I can about them and their venoms.I own a ~2’ Ball Python (Python regius) at home and try to go out searching for snakes in the wild whenever I can.I've presented my research at a few national conferences and have educated members of the public about snakes and other scientific topics (including misconceptions in health/medicine, gmos, genetics, reproduction, and snakes). I earned my Bachelor of Science in Zoology, Ecology, and Biochemistry from Ball State University in 2008.Previously, I have taught high school Biology/Math as well as a variety of college Biology courses (Biology 100/101/110, Advanced Human Physiology/Anatomy, Parasitology, Mammalogy, Herpetology, Vertebrate Zoology, Pathophysiology).

Thanks for stopping by!!
