It varies from embassy to embassy. Some embassies keep your passport and others return it.
I have been admitted in OVGU Magdeburg for Msc chemical & energy engineering which is a fully English course and doesn't require any German certificate. I have A2 level of German (which I also submitted during my application) but the certificate is older than 12 months and so the embassy doesn't consider it valid. How should I represent my knowledge of German at the visa interview?
I have already secured an appointment for my visa interview. Unfortunately, I have a slight problem with my passport. It will be expiring in five months, and I have registered for my visa appointment with this passport. I would like to get a new passport but afraid that this might complicate things since the embassy has already entered my old passport's number and details into their database. Should I wait and get a new passport after my interview or it would be better to get one before the interview?
I applied for a masters degree program taught in English. I arranged all the required documents in an appropriate manner. When I handed the documents to the officer, she quickly checked them and took my biometrics and told me to pay the fees. During this process, she asked me only three questions about how many brothers and sisters I had, about my father’s job, and if I knew any German which I answered no. I am now worried and feel it is weird to be asked only three questions. Is this normal or not?
My passport expires on June 16th, 2019, and I can only renew it after June 16th, 2018 as per Indian Govt. rules. I have a visa interview scheduled for June 22nd, 2018. I have been admitted to the University of Magdeburg for masters in Data Sciences. Will my passport validity be a problem? I am applying for a Type D student visa (my course is for two years), and there is no way I could get my passport renewed before June 16th, 2018.
I recently got my admission letter to study in Bonn Sank Augustin (Germany), and I just sent my documents to request for a blocked account to be opened with Deutsche Bank. My problem is I am supposed to be present on 30th September for enrollment, and I haven't even applied for a visa. Can the Embassy reply to me within one month? It is an English masters program, and I have TOEFL iBT, and even Goethe Zertifikat A1.
I applied for a student visa with the Chennai Consulate and I'm already done with my visa interview. After the visa interview was done, the visa officer placed a stamp on my passport on which was written a 'D', Date, and a reference number. The visa officer then gave me the fee receipt along with my passport. I am now really concerned if that stamp means my visa was rejected?
