At the moment, this isn’t possible. Researchers are exploring artificial photosynthesis, however, so it may one day be feasible. During natural photosynthesis, plants convert the energy of sunlight into chemical energy, which is then stored in the molecules of carbohydrates. At the moment, the focus of the artificial photosynthesis research seems to be the creation of a different type of energy from sunlight instead of the chemical energy stored in molecules. New goals for the research may be established in the future, though.
